Kraft Hotel Florence · The Roof Garden
When you arrive at the Kraft Hotel, look up at the sky:
you will realise at a glance that the roof garden is a really unique one, with trees that are surprisingly tall for this type of environment.
The Kraft roof garden was designed at the same time as the building, more than fifty years ago, and its trees are in very good shape!
Italian cypresses and pines can become very big when they grow naturally, and here they are pampered with the utmost care in large and strong containers, treated to resist the roots expansion.
The silent creatures that will keep you company in the Kraft Hotel roof garden are:
- 2 pine trees (Pinus maritimus),
for those who are in a light-hearted holiday mood.
- 1 cypress tree (Cupressus italicus),
for those who are in a pensive mood.
- Some bay plants (Laurus nobilis),
for those who are about to take important decisions.
- Lemon trees (Citrus limonum),
for those who love the Mediterranean cheerfulness.
- Roses (Rosa) for lovers.
- Oleanders (Nerium oleander) that flower profusely, with dainty petals highlighted by the slender ane leathery foliage.
- Bushes of fragrant jasmine (Jasminum officinale),
for those who are leaving, to make them wish to come back.
